I followed the install instructions in the readme, but the mod doesn't work?

If you're sure that you followed the instructions correctly, then there might be two reasons for the problem:
1) The version of your D2 LoD is not 1.10. The mod will only work with v1.10.
2) You're using a no-cd crack, loader or any other 3rd party tool. It has been reported that the mod is not compatible with some no-cd cracks.

When are you going to update the mod to work with D2 LoD v1.11?

Never. The mod is too strongly dependant on v1.10 and I don't even want to think about trying to make it work on v1.11.

I have D2 LoD v1.11. Now what?

Downgrading to v1.10 is in fact very easy - it only consists by two simple steps. Read this article for more information.

I'm playing the mod, but I get no skill points on level-up?

This is how it is supposed to work. Skills in Back to Hellfire are learned via books, and there are no skill points available anywhere in the game.

I'm playing a Blood Wizard, but I get no stat points on level-up?

The 5 stat points are automatically assigned to Vitality on level-up, as the Blood Wizard is not able to increase his Strength, Dexterity or Energy. I'm just saving you the effort of clicking 5 times each time you level-up.

I can't find the Jail in Act 2?

The Jail isn't located under the Festering Nest, contrary to what you might think, so don't go looking for the entrance in Festering Nest Level 3. Go to town instead, and find the Jail building with the guard in front of it. It's located just across the street from the waypoint. This is where you enter the Jail.

I hired a Desert Mercenary, but there are no spears/polearms in the mod?

The Desert Mercenaries fight with staves.

I have killed Baal, but the quest doesn't solve?

It's a known bug, but it won't prevent you from proceeding. If you want the Personalize reward that badly, then come back and kill Baal again after you've completed the Lachdanan quest.

I have killed Diablo, Tyrael came down, but he didn't open the portal to end the game?

Again, a known bug. But there is a way to move on to the next difficulty. When you kill Diablo, talk to Tyrael, then save and exit. The select your character again and save and exit again. Next time you select your character, you'll get the option for the higher difficulty.
